Who We Are
Americans Hosting And Helping Ukrainian Refugees In The U.S., is a volunteer group supporting the refugees of the Ukraine. Ukrainians have been displaced from their country due to war with Russia. We are striving to help and support Ukrainian refugees who have crossed or are crossing the border into the United States. We help provide basic needs like food, shelter, clothing through donations and partnerships, but the core of our efforts are finding host families for Ukrainians refugees. We look for host families, businesses, partners, organizations who can assist in supporting this process. Whether it's providing housing for a week to six months, a temporary job, a ride, or information on how to adjust in the U.S., we seek to find the connections, people, information, tools, and supplies to help solve these logistical problems.

Fundraising Opportunities
We are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the immediate needs of the refugees who have already crossed the border into the United States. We get a list of items needed periodically from our contacts which we post on the website. We look to fundraising events to collect these items. Look for upcoming fundraising events.
Volunteer Opportunities
With this initiative, our goal is to promote volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, and partnerships with organizations and businesses. We are looking for sponsors for USCIS and volunteer host families..
We are also looking for volunteers for this organization who can help promote the volunteer group, assist in fundraising opportunities, and logistics.
Mentoring
If you are unable to host but would still like to help, mentoring refugees is an opportunity to help them access the right resources in the United States. Answering questions such as how to get a driver's license, how to enroll a child into school, or other needs such as practicing English, helping children fit in with their classmates are also big concerns. Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.
Hosting Refugees
Currently, we are looking for families to host a Ukrainian refugee or Ukrainian family who have already crossed into the U.S. before the border was closed. If you are interested in hosting a family who has already crossed the border, we need families who could house refugees for a day, a week, a month, or more.
OR
Become a sponsor or host through Uniting for Ukraine (USCIS). The U.S. government has now closed crossing the border to refugees from Mexico, but has created an organization called Uniting for Ukraine which works with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to get them across through sponsorship.
